A graduate of the University of Florida, Ron Garl specialized in turf grass science. Afterwards, he worked as an apprentice for national golf design firms. He then spent three years in the Bahamas before launching his own business, Ron Garl Golf Design. Since then, he has designed over 120 courses, with 2/3 of these projects being in Florida. He also co-authored a book called “Golf Course Development in Residential Communities” (Urban Land Institute). Garl is a pilot, a golfer, and a sculptor.
